Two Decades of Support. A Lifetime of Gratitude.
For over two decades, Geoff Seigel was one of The Princess Margaret’s most dedicated supporters. Alongside his wife Paula, a breast cancer survivor, he helped raise over $150,000 for the Cancer Centre. He knew the impact of every dollar. He shared the stories. He Carries The Fire for a world free from the fear of cancer. Then in 2024, after a routine checkup, that mission became deeply personal. Geoff was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer and was referred to the very institution he had supported for so long.
“Dr. Hamilton is an amazing person. He really made me feel like we were partners working together... I really felt like he was emotionally invested in my overall well-being.”
Geoff’s journey brought him to Dr. Rob Hamilton, a prostate surgical oncologist at The Princess Margaret. He chose to have a radical prostatectomy, placing his trust in the innovative care his own fundraising had helped to advance. The experience was a testament to the partnership and compassion that define the Cancer Centre.
Today, Geoff has made a full recovery. Shortly after his surgery, he stood with his family at the top of Camelback Mountain in Arizona, a personal summit that marked his return to health.
“I feel so fortunate that my cancer was caught early. When you support The Princess Margaret, it’s not just a step closer to a better future for you – it gets cancer patients a step closer to their dream too.”
Geoff’s story has come full circle. He is living proof that early detection saves lives and that community support fuels the breakthroughs that make stories like his possible. His journey underscores the vital importance of the work we do, together.
